Rain on your wedding day. That’s a tale (fear) as old as time. Jessica and Eric were married on a rainy Saturday in September. The funny is the forecast and radar called for a sunny day. No joke, A SUNNY – NO CLOUD IN THE SKY – DAY. To my surprise, I woke up and it was misty, messy, and definitely not sunny out there. With no rain plan, we walked into this rainy Virginia wedding day ready to rock it out.
I don’t know what it was, but 2020 in central Virginia had the most rainy days I’ve seen in my years of shooting. Maybe the fact that I was shooting every single weekend (two or three days a weekend) might have played a roll in my opinion on that. All this aside, I’m here to tell you that rain on your wedding day isn’t so bad! Or at least, not as bad as you think! This is why it is so important to hire a professional for your wedding day. Someone who has shot rainy day weddings before and is fully equipped to shoot in the rain!
Jessica and Eric’s rainy Virginia wedding day has completely changed my outlook on rainy days SO much. I feel fully prepared to conquer any rainy day now! The romantic vibes, tiny sprinkles in the lens, stunning florals, and a bridal party that’s down to get soaked. That’s the making of a perfect day! Jessica and Eric have the best energy any photographer could ask for! The rain didn’t even phase them one bit! I absolutely adore these two and their positive vibes, and you will too!
Take a peek into their rainy wedding day, and you’ll fall in love with them and their love for each other just as much as I did!
Since we were on a private friend’s farm, we didn’t have a backup rain plan, so we decided to wing it! Umbrellas and all! Looking back, I wouldn’t have it any other way! This intimate and romantic rainy ceremony was simply amazing. Jessica and Eric were determined to get married, sprinkles and all! They said “I do” in the misty rain nestled by the creek, and oh my goodness, it was DREAMY.
I don’t think I’ll ever come up with enough words to say just how much I love these two. Not only who they naturally are, but how they handled this day with such grace and patience. They are the kind of people that aren’t afraid to get a little soaked! At the end of the day they just wanted to celebrate their love. And let me tell you, their love is something made of magic!!!
